Senkata Alta Group's story
The group A.C. "SENKATA ALTA" started it's seventh cycle at Pro Mujer as a part of the Centro Focal de Senkata. It is made of up 8 members and led by a board of directors of whom Felicidad is the president. The members of this communal association lead various business selling products such as jackets, clothing, toys, blankets, and vegetables. The loan will benefit small micro enterprises that Felicidad is a member of. She says that she has been a member of Pro Mujer for 2 years and she became a member by invitation from a friend who is a client of the institution. Presently she has a business selling potatoes and freeze-dried potatoes. She started this business a few years ago when she became independent from her parents but started a business in the same line of work. The loan that she is taking out now is to increase the capital (amount of wholesale potatoes) that she will get from the wholesale vendors of communities and afterwards sell at her kiosk. This kind of work allows her to generate income to support her family economically since she is married and has 3 children. When asked if she likes Pro Mujer, she answers that she likes the savings and health services that the organization offers.
