Abigael's Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase a solar light, as well as hybrid seeds and fertilizer to improve harvests of maize.

Abigael's Group's story

Abigael's Group was formed by 10 farmers in Kakamega South District, and it is being represented by Abigael, who is the group leader pictured above. She is 42 years old, is married, and has three children. Abigael has been a farmer for more than 20 years, and she is often referred to as a very hard-working individual. Abigael isn’t new to One Acre Fund. She actually joined the program in 2013. She has since noticed that her life has changed, especially in the sense that she has had a healthier life due to better nutrition ever since. This year, Abigael will not only get fertilizer and maize seeds as part of her loan, but she will also purchase a solar light. She is very excited about this addition. Now she will have light during dark hours for her children to be able to study. Using this loan, Abigael's Group will purchase a total of six solar lights and use the farming inputs received to plant a total of 6.5 acres.
