Sokhna's Group's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support
A loan helped to purchase peanuts to process and obtain oil to resell at 1,000 francs per liter.
Sokhna's Group's story
This group was set up during the second semester of the year 2013. It is composed of women whose ambitions include prospering in their revenue-generating businesses via the 'banc villageois' programs. All the women live in the same village and maintain ties of solidarity and mutual assistance. Their main work involves small-scale commerce, and they also farm during the rainy season. Ms. Sokhna (sitting at the far right with a hand raised) is the featured borrower of the group. She is a married mother of eight children (2 boys and 6 girls). She has a shop in the village where she sells a variety of grocery items: rice, sugar, green tea, and various flavorings for cooking. She enjoys good experience in this domain for having worked at it for several years. With this loan, she intends to purchase two 20-liter containers of oil and various culinary flavorings. The profits from her business will enable her to save money, as well as to grow her financial capacity and to increase her herd of sheep.
