Beatrice's story

Beatrice is a serial social entrepreneur. Mother of three with an MBA, Beatrice has worked as an accountant, started her own catering company, and is the founder and headmaster of a primary school. Beatrice started Rise to Shine (risetoshine.org) in 2011, a nursery and primary school located in fast growing Kigali suburb. Beginning with just one classroom for nursery students, Beatrice has grown the school every year by adding on another grade and classroom. In June 2014, Rise to Shine received a grant to construct 4 new classrooms, which will allow Beatrice to nearly double her student capacity. The funding covered most of the construction, but Beatrice needs a loan for 5,783 USD to finish the classrooms and build classroom furniture. Beatrice is a new borrower with AEC, but she has successfully repaid other past loans at Rise to Shine. She is a trusted woman with a great network of resources. This funding is the final installment needed to complete the school. Thank you for your consideration!
