Aysha's story

Aysha is a 32-year-old married woman, living in the area of Lahore, Pakistan. Her husband owns a small crockery store, where he sells utensils and crockery items such as plates, dishes, cups, jars, glass, jugs, mugs, cauldrons, and buckets. He has only one source of income, and he has to afford the expenses of utility bills and household expenses, alone. The condition of his house is not up to the mark, according to the living standard. He wants buy more inventory to sell because most of his female customers purchase utensils in large quantities to arrange a dowry. Nowadays, the marriage season is about to start; for this purpose, more inventory is required to cope with the sudden increase in the demand. Aysha has requested a loan from Kiva’s field partner’s BRAC Pakistan so her her husband can buy utensils and crockery items and can generate more income.
