Tererai Group's story
Married with six children, three of them school, Juliana is a committed mother. She has been supporting her family with her tailoring business for the past 10 years. Juliana specialises in tailoring children’s clothes and tracksuits. Juliana is a member of Tererai group, a member of four dedicated and goal-oriented women. Juliana and her group members are currently in their 2nd loan cycle with Thrive Microfinance. Juliana used to work from home before she came to Thrive. After getting her 1st loan from Thrive Microfinance she bought more materials for her business and her business grew. She is now operating at a local shopping centre, a busy centre where she is renting a space for her business. Juliana’s sales grew and she managed to procure a heavy duty fleece sewing machine. This has made work faster and easier for her as it enables her to sew many fleece tracksuits at a faster rate. With the current loan that has been advanced to her, Juliana plans to buy another sewing machine and an over locking machine. These two machines will increase production for Juliana and she also plans to employ someone so as to further grow her tailoring business and produce bulk products for wholesaling.
