Madina's story

Madina is 42 years old, married, and the mother of five children who are all very active in helping her with the farm work. She has a specialized-secondary education, and she has been involved in agriculture since 2000. She currently owns three cows. She and her family also use 12.5 hectares of their own land to grow potatoes, cereals and bananas for their own domestic use and also for sale. Madina makes an average monthly income of about UGX 400,000. Madina has turned to UGAFODE for a loan of UGX1,500,000. She will use this loan to buy additional livestock in order to increase her cattle headcount and the volume of milk that she produces and sells. She plans to reinvest the earnings from her loan into further developing her farming business. She would also like to save enough money to build a house for her large and friendly family.
