Sahar's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to cover home improvement costs of an apartment she will rent.

Sahar's story

Sahar is a 34 year old Palestinian refugee who was born and raised in a Palestinian refugee camp located in North Lebanon. She has been raising her kids alone since her husband passed away four years ago. Her three boys are still at school and they are 11, 13 and 14 years old. Sahar has been working as a school teacher for ten years but with her husband's death, she started giving private tutoring classes at home to six students in order to increase her income and support the household's expenses. She also owns a small apartment inside the camp that she intends to rent for extra revenue. Sahar is asking for a 1,543,658 Lebanese pounds loan for the first time from Kiva partner Ibdaa in order to improve the apartment and make it suitable for renting. The loan will therefore allow her to increase her monthly income and fulfill her commitment to see her children complete their high school education.
