Daniel's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped buying a refrigerator and generator to chill his beverages.

Daniel's story

This is Daniel D. T., age fifty-five. Daniel was born in Magburaka town, Tonkolili District, in northern Sierra Leone. He is married to a businesswoman and the two have eight children. Six of his children are currently living on their own and two are in secondary school. Daniel sells a number of items, including palm oil, rice, soft drinks, cigarettes, soaps, toothpaste, sardines, Peak brand powdered milk and more. This will be his very first loan from SMT. He is requesting a loan of Le 3,000,000 to help him strengthen his business. With this loan, Daniel will strengthen his business by buying a refrigerator and a generator. With these machines, Daniel will be able to sell cold drinks. He will buy the machines from neighboring Makeni (30 miles round trip). The refrigerator will cost him Le 1,200,000 and the generator will cost him Le 800,000. Business had been moving at a slow pace for Daniel, but he is quite sure that with this loan business will start running faster for him. Sales will increase with the introduction of the new items in his shop. Needless to say, when sales increase and Daniel generates more income, he will feel good and become a happy man.
