Thavia's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!
A loan helped to purchase cows and goats to add to the plantation.
Thavia is 45 years old and lives in the town of Ntungamo, in the Mbarara region of Uganda. He is married and has five children; none of them are currently in school. For the past 20 years, Thavia has been working hard to manage his farming which enabled him to sell beans and millet. To help expand his business, Thavia has requested a loan from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to purchase cows and goats to add to the business. This will help Thavia to generate greater profits. He hopes that in the future he will be able to get more profits. Thavia is a member of BRAC's Small Enterprise Program (SEP). The program primarily serves small entrepreneurs like Thavia who do not have enough collateral for commercial loans, but have businesses that have grown too large for microloans.
