A loan helped to purchase 4 dairy cows to produce milk.
María Selsa's story
María is a 60-year-old housewife. She attended school until sixth grade. Her husband died 29 years ago, leaving her a widow. She is also the mother of a 35-year-old son who is already married and works to pay for his own household expenses. María lives with her niece and her husband but no one is financially dependent on her. María makes a living looking after 4 cows that produce a lot of milk for her. She has been doing this for 22 years and it is a job that her parents taught her how to do. To get to work, María walks 1 kilometre, she then works from 7:00 am to 11:00 am and in the evenings she works as a seamstress. The loan that she is asking for is to purchase 4 more dairy cows so that she can produce more milk. She will sell the milk to make income, which will enable her to improve her quality of life. María's dream is to increase her cattle heard so that she can produce more milk and therefore always maintain the sustainability of her business.
