Ramatoulaye's Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped buy 20 liters of oil for 18,000 francs, 3 kilos of tomatoes for 3,000 francs, and 7,000 francs' worth of onions she will resell in pots of 65 and 100 CFA francs.

Ramatoulaye's Group's story

This "banc villageois" loan group was created December 1, 2009, and has already been through eight loan cycles. It is composed of very dynamic women who want to improve their socioeconomic conditions. They have all lived in the same village for several decades, and they have good team spirit characterized by solidarity. Their main activity is small retail businesses along with farming during the rainy season. Mrs. Mariama (seated on the far right with her hand raised) is the group's featured borrower. She is a 30-year-old mother of four children: two girls and two boys. She is a retail merchant. She will use this new loan to resupply with 20 liters of oil for 18,000 francs, 3 kilos of tomatoes for 3,000 francs, and 7,000 francs' worth of onions she will resell in pots of 65 and 100 CFA francs. The profits resulting from these activities will enable her to better support her family by improving their nutrition, and increase her savings so she can qualify for a larger loan in the future.
