Indira's story

Indira is 33 and married and raising three children. She has a specialist high school education and works in agriculture and animal husbandry as the primary source of income for her family, a business she began in 1995. Thanks to her hard work, persistence and determination, she currently has three cows, 10 sheep and one horse as well as 2.96 hectares of land where she grows potatoes. Her monthly income is about 10,000 KGS. Indira has turned to Bai Tushum Bank for a loan of 150,000 KGS to purchase 20 sheep. The loan will allow her to improve her family's financial situation and increase her head count of livestock. She wants to use profits from the loan to pay for her children's education.
