Nurlan's story

Nurlan is a 24-year-old single gardener. He is a refugee and lives with his parents in an IDP settlement. The main source of income for the family is raising and selling seasonal vegetables (cucumber, onion, greens and etc.). This brings him 180 AZN monthly but he also gets additional earnings working as a laborer in his free time. Raising vegetables is very popular in Azerbaijan because people have high demand in fresh vegetables. They use these products to prepare delicious fresh salads and national dishes. Nurlan’s parents are old and they need good care but this isn’t possible with a small income. So Nurlan wants to increase productivity and income, and provide his parents with a good life, because it’s very hard for refugees to pay for medicines. He applied for 1200 AZN in order to buy new, good fertilizers and garden tools.
