Wella's story

This is Wella, 33, a resident of Bacoor, Cavite, Philippines. She is married to Water and they have one child who is already in high school. She works hard to meet their daily household needs and pay for the schooling of her child. Wella is in the food business; she has a chicken barbecue business just in front of her house. Chicken barbecue is a favorite food among Filipinos. People will usually just buy barbecue for dinner especially those who come from work at the office; they will drop by a stall that sells barbecue. Wella is already known for her sweet and delicious chicken barbecue so she is already popular in their area, with neighbors and the local working community as her regular customers. She also sells fashion jewelry items as shown in her photo. She earns a minimum of Php 600 net income a day. To help her maintain her business, Wella is requesting a Php 15,000 loan to buy dozens of chickens needed for her business. She believes that with this financial assistance her sales and earnings will increase. She thanks God in advance for your great help. Wella dreams of having another branch of her barbecue business. She wants to secure the education of her child until college for a bright future. She meets up with her co-fellowship* members to share stories of her life and business every week and draw strength and inspiration from the fellowship and the Word of God she studies. *All CCT community partners / clients are organized into fellowship groups that meet on a weekly basis. A fellowship group is composed of 15 to 30 community partners. The fellowship groups gather each week to study the Word of God, build social capital, and repay Micro Finance loans.
