Jacinto Geremías's story
One of the public services people from Sololá have contact with most frequently is public transportation. People get on and off to transport themselves everyday. Each one of them has a story. But the drivers or chauffeurs also have a variety of personal histories and lives. Jacinto, who is 38 years old and has five children, learned to chauffeur while he was living with his father, and this was how he learned. With a little bit of savings he had, he bought a vehicle and dedicated himself to the public service of transportation. He's been doing this activity for more than six years and it's been going very well, earning him an income for the benefit of his family. He has asked for a loan to give his vehicle its required maintenance and be able to servce his community in this way. His labor is also a source of income for his family. Among his goals is buying another vehicle and expanding his business, and giving his children a better economic outlook as a result. While the passengers get on and get off of his vehicle, it carries each person's life, as well as Jacinto's.
