A loan helped To purchase a dairy cow for her milk-supply business.
Manjurani is a 50-year-old illiterate woman who only can sign her name. She has three children and lives in the village Madhya Tekatuli, under the district of Jalpaiguri. Manjurani’s husband is engaged in agricultural work. Due to poor economic conditions, Manjurani and her husband were not able to send all of her children to school. One of her sons now reads in grade 9, and the other two children did not get an education. Manjurani always worried about the condition of their family and wants to do something for the sake of children and husband. So Manjurani set up her own business to serve her family better and for the future betterment of her children. Manjurani supplies milk to her neighbors and the local market, too. But there has been more demand for milk in the market, which pushes to Manjurani to buy another dairy cow. So Manjurani and her husband decided to take a loan from Kiva lenders via BJS to purchase a dairy cow for expanding the business of animal husbandry. An extra cow will provide her with a lot of reasonable profit. She will be able to produce more milk and increase her sales volume. The decision makes Manjurani more comfortable about the future of her family and securing the future of her children. Manjurani gives her heartiest thanks to Kiva and BJS for the loan.
