Maria's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase glass, screws, and aluminum in large volume.

Maria's story

Before starting their business in 2009, Maria and her spouse got advice from her cousin who has a glass business. Her cousin knows this trade very well and taught her how to make many products. Today she makes display cabinets, desks, tables, and whatever her customers request, and sells them from a location in the center of town where she lives. She conducts her sales in cash and on credit, and she works in her shop from 8:00 in the morning until 6:00 in the evening. She buys from suppliers who specialize in materials that she uses. Her goal is to have a well-recognized, spacious workshop, and to support her 24 year old son so that he has potential for success. Currently, Maria is applying for a Credikiva, her first loan with Fundación Mario Santo Domingo. Through this loan, she will purchase glass, screws, and aluminum in large volume, making the most of the supplier’s promotional offer which will give her a competitive advantage, and make her business substantially better.
