A loan helped to buy fertilizer.

Francisco's story

The land has benefited from hands that like to work and care for it. Caring for the land is a dignified profession that others admire and to which many dedicate years of work, and often their entire lifetime. Land without dedicated manual labor to cultivate it does not bear the fruit that sustains entire generations. This is the work that Francisco does. He is 31 years old and lives in Sololá. He has 2 sons and one daughter. All three children attend school in the community. He grows corn. He chose this work because the region has the proper soil and climate for corn. This work generates a good income for his family. He also sells groceries in the community, always with the vision of helping his neighbors have enough to fulfill their daily needs. He is seeking a loan so that he can buy fertilizers for his corn crops. One of his goals is to increase production of his corn and to improve the management of the land so that he can increase his income in order to improve the welfare of his family.
