A loan helped To purchase eight regular sewing machines, one cutting sewing machine and sewing materials.
Odette graduated valedictorian from a vocational school at the age of 16. As one of the most outstanding students, she was awarded a sewing machine by her school. Later on, her dad gave her another sewing machine as a gift. She started sewing at home and hiring someone to deliver the dresses to retailers. In 2000, she rented a house in the southern part of Port-au-Prince and launched the business "Bruna Shop." Over the years, Bruna Shop developed a strong reputation thanks to her good quality services. For years, Bruna Shop specialized in manufacturing stylish clothing and rental wedding dresses which represent the values and the beauty of the Haitian tradition. In addition, the business created a training program for young people in the field. The business has made a conscious effort to reflect the real fashion identity of Haitian youth. The quality of the products produced by the business has retained clients for years. Years ago, thanks to a previous Zafen loan, the business was able to purchase a sewing machine and furniture, and created two full-time jobs. Today, the business is devoted to doubling its production and services. It has decided to request a second Zafen loan, which will help to buy more sewing machines and other furniture.
