Yessica María's story
The La Estancia Credit Group meets every fifteen days in La Estancilla, in the Tosagua Canton. It is known for being a very dynamic place where most of the residents devote themselves to agriculture and raising animals, and for being a zone of lush vegetation. Señora Yessica lives here. She is 35 years old and she has a common-law-marriage, from which she has two children, ages 16 and 6. The older child is studying in high school, and the younger child is in grade school. Her husband is a businessman. Doña Yessica and her husband have a fast food business; she prepares the food in their house, and her husband cooks it later in their small restaurant. They sell roasted chicken wings, shish kebabs, and various sandwiches. In the afternoons, she sets up some tables in the city center of Calceta, where they have many customers who eat their food every day. They also sell sodas, water, and juices, among other items. They have had this business for 12 years, and it allows them to provide for their family. She is going to use this loan for the purchase of chicken wings, meat, and other supplies for preparing the food. She has been in the credit group for 10 years, and she likes it because the loans help her very much. Her dreams are to give the best to her children.
