Khusaboo Mahila Samuha Group's story

Jahiran, Khuteza, Sajan, Mejun, Jahiron and Jebun live in the rural part of Rupsagr village, Deoghar district, Jharkhand, and they have formed a group called “Khusaboo Mahila Samuha” to help each other improve their livelihoods and standard of living. They work hard to support their families and each has their own aspirations that they hope to realize. They want to educate their children, and improve their standards of living. Jahiran lives with her husband and five children. Her husband is working as daily-labor wall painter, and his income is around INR 300 per day. Jahiran has been selling bangles for the past three years. She works 20 days in a month and earns around 200 per day. The income she and her husband are generating now is not sufficient for her family’s maintenance. Therefore, Jahiran plans to improve her bangle business by taking a loan from Kiva. With the loan, she will buy a colorful variety of bangles to attract customers, which will increase her income. Like Jahiran, the other members are also seeking the loan to improve their livelihood. They are willing to work hard and do what it takes to uplift their families. To make improvements to their small businesses, these women need sufficient capital, so they seek a group loan which they will invest in their respective endeavors. Your loan will help six hardworking and deserving families take a big step toward improving their livelihoods and lives.
