Hokume's story

Hokume is a 43-year-old married mother of two children. She is an IDP person (internally displaced person) and lives with her family in Bilasuvar region. Her husband is a driver, but his salary is not enough to cover their family's needs. Because of that, Hokume grows vegetables and fruits on her small plantation to earn a living. She has been doing this business for five years. Her husband helps her in this business. She is asking for the support of Kiva lenders because she wants to grow a different crop, like potatoes, this season. She needs a loan 1500 AZN to buy fertilizer, manure, and high-quality seeds to plant. By no longer depending on bean crops to support the needs of her children, she plans to diversify her income and get ahead. This is going to be her first loan.
