Vicenta Margarita's story
The Honduras 2000 communal bank meets every 15 days in Jaramijo canton. This place is known for its lovely beaches, which bathe the shores of this beautiful place. Here, the majority of residents are very hardworking and earn their livings in fishing. In this place lives Señora Vicenta. She is 67 years old and married. From this relationship, she has eight independent adult children. Her husband doesn't work because of his age. Vicenta has a bus that provides transportation from Jaramijo to Manta. It is driven by one of her sons, to whom she pays a weekly salary for his work. In addition, she has a home business selling large jugs of water. She and her husband sell from their house and they also deliver to residences; she has a person in charge of doing that work to whom she also pays a monthly salary. She has had this water sales business for eight years and the bus for many more years. She is going to use this loan to buy jugs of water and certain spare parts for the bus. She has been in the communal bank for more than twelve years. Her dream is to continue improving her life and her business.
