A loan helped to buy more sacks of coffee.

Pascal's story

Pascal is 35 years old and lives in the town of Kasese in the Fortportal region of Uganda. He is married and has three children who are all currently in school. For the past 10 years, Pascal has been working hard to manage his coffee business. To help expand his business, Pascal has requested a loan of 4,000,000 Ugandan Shillings (UGX) from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to buy more sacks of coffee, and will help Pascal to generate greater profits and improve standards of living. Pascal hopes that in the future he will be able to improve stock. Pascal is a member of BRAC's Small Enterprise Program (SEP). The program primarily serves small entrepreneurs like Pascal who do not have enough collateral for commercial loans, but have businesses that have grown too large for microloans.
