A loan helped to build a wall between her house and the edge of the street.
Maritza Del Carmen's story
Maritza is 37 years old. She has a sixth-grade education; the distance that she had to travel to get to school prevented her from continuing. She is married, and her husband works in agriculture. She has two daughters who live with her; the older goes to school and is in third grade. Maritza has a small chicken farm. She fattens them to later sell them. She has been doing this activity, which she learned from her parents, for three years now; necessity led her to create a source of income. In addition, she is a housewife and she works in agriculture. She grows corn, beans, and sorghum, and she also has livestock. Her work schedule is from 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. She needs this loan to build a wall between her house and the edge of the street. Her dreams are to prepare her house well in order to give her daughters a good inheritance and to give them an education so that they can have a life different than hers.
