Anna's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!
A loan helped to pay for seeds for land cultivation (wheat, barley and potatoes) and forage for feeding the livestock.
Anna is from Harij village in the Shirak region. She lives with her parents, and two brothers. Anna and her mother work in the local bakery. Anna, with the help of her family members, is breeding livestock including cows, pigs, calves and hens. They are also cultivating potatoes and barley. Livestock breeding and plant cultivation are very important sources of income for the family. To be able to continue, Anna needs a loan of USD 2,500 to purchase seeds for land cultivation (wheat, barley and potatoes) and forage for feeding the livestock. Anna has already taken a loan from a local financial institution before, but unfortunately wasn't able to pay it back. However, thanks to her hard work during recent times, Anna was able to run her agribusiness in a sustainable way, ensuring that she will be able to cover the monthly payments. So, she has now been approved for a loan within the framework of a new joint initiative between Kiva and SEF International. The second-chance loan program provides loans to people who have a bad credit history and have no access to credit products. Anna and her family will be thankful to all the lenders for helping them to maintain their agribusiness.
