A loan helped to invest in her yucca and rice crops so that she can use the income for her children's school expenses.

22 De Octubre Group's story

Justina is a 25-year-old woman. She lives with her partner and their two children, who are 8 and 10 years old. She works in agriculture. She is strong, brave, tenacious, independent, responsible, and very hardworking. She works in the community of Sacaba, which is located in a semitropical valley full of streams and hills. She is dark-skinned, wears her long, black hair in braids, and dresses typically (full skirt, blouse, and hat). Her native language is quechua, which she uses at home, and she speaks Spanish in the city. She is the first from the left in the photo, dressed in blue. She works in agriculture and grows fruits and vegetables. She works with her husband. The challenges that they face include changes in the weather and plagues. Their advantage is that their crops sell quickly. She shares her life with her partner and their two children, who attend school in the community. Her dream is to increase her production and provide a better quality of life for her family. She hopes to invest in rice and yucca crops. This is why Justina has requested a loan to grow yucca and rice, so that she can use the income for her children's school expenses.
