Lilit's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase forage for her livestock as well as to buy wheat seed and fuel for land cultivation.

Lilit's story

Lilit lives in the village of Lor in the Syunik region with her husband and their two children. She is an agronomist with 17 years of experience. Her husband works in the village milk factory. He is the main breadwinner for the family. However, his salary is so low that they cannot afford a living based on that salary alone. Lilit herself is engaged in breeding cows, sheep, calves, and hens, and in the cultivation of wheat and potatoes. She sells her agricultural products in the local market, and this provides an important source of income for the family. To continue running her agribusiness in a sustainable way, Lilit is requesting a loan in the amount of USD 2,000. She will use her loan funds to purchase forage for her livestock as well as to buy wheat seed and fuel for land cultivation. As this is Lilit's first loan, it has been approved within the framework of a new joint initiative of Kiva and SEF. The first-chance loan program provides loans to people who did not have access to credit products before, because they have no credit history. Lilit and her family rely heavily on the goodwill of their lenders. They appreciate their support in offering them this much-needed loan.
