A loan helped to pay for 17 colonies of bees and to hire workers for land cultivation.
Narine's story
Narine is an experienced farmer from the village of Agarakadzor village of Vayots Dzor region. She lives with her husband and little daughter. Narine is self-employed in her agribusiness. With the help of her husband, she is involved in beekeeping and in aviculture as the only source of income for her family. Her husband helps her by selling honey in the local market.
To continue her agribusiness, and to start cultivating vegetables, the family needs to invest some financial resources. They particularly need a loan of $3000 to purchase 17 colonies of bees and to hire workers for land cultivation. As this is Narine's first loan, it has been approved within the framework of the new joint initiative between Kiva and SEF. The first-chance loan program provides loans to people who have not had access to credit products in the past because they have no credit history.
Narine and her hardworking family will be grateful to the lenders for helping them with a loan, which will have a great impact on their agribusiness and their lives in general.
