Centro Group's story
The group "Centro" has 7 members, who are responsible, cheerful and hard-working women. It is located in the head of the municipality and takes its name from the fact that meetings take place in the municipal center. Group members are: Eugenia (bakery), Felipa (clothes and cosmetics sales), Nisha (food sales), Estela (catalog clothing sales), Lorena (catalog and casual clothing sales), Pragedes (room rental) and María (clothes sales). Eugenia is a 47-year old woman who is married to Jorge. Jorge works in agriculture in the mornings and helps his wife to sell bread in the afternoons. Eugenia has been making bread for 3 years, which is why she built a small room to keep the gas oven next to her house, and counts with the help of one of his husband's nephews. Thanks to the earnings she obtains and Jorge's salary, they have been able to make improvements to the room. Eugenia dreams with a bigger bakery that would offer job opportunities to people in her community. Eugenia plans to use the loan to buy trays, flour, rolling pins, butter, sugar and a gas tank to make the bread. "Thanks for trusting my business and for motivating me to keep working", says Eugenia. *In the photo: the borrower is wearing a flowered blouse and a coffee color skirt.
