A loan helped to cover higher education tuition expenses.
Denia Carolina's story
Denia is a young Psychology student who is requesting a loan to cover tuition expenses. This is her story: "My name is Denia and I am from Ciudad de La Vega. I am 18 years old, the youngest of three siblings, and live with my parents and siblings. My mother works as a teacher in a private school and my dad is handicapped and incapable of working due to a car accident. My brother and sister are still studying. I have a strong will to improve, become useful to society and follow my beliefs. I attend classes at the Catholic Technological University of Cibao (UCATECI) and expect to graduate with a degree in Psychology. I have passed Spanish I, Math I and University Orientation in the first semester, but had to withdraw because I could not cover my tuition expenses. My parents do not have many resources, so this loan is my only option to keep studying. I identify myself with this career as I enjoy helping others, listening, guiding and giving advice. My goals are to gain knowledge of the field, get good grades, graduate and become an efficient and capable professional. I want to have a decent and honest job to pay back the loan and to contribute to my parents' financial situation."
