Nenita's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to pay for the maintenance of a tricycle for transportation services and ingredients she needs for her variety store.

Nenita's story

Nenita is 43 years old and is a resident of Coron, Palawan, Philippines. She is married to Rofino, a tricycle driver and has three children who are in college, high school and elementary school. She and her husband work hard to meet their daily household needs and for the schooling of their children. Nenita owns a tricycle unit and she also has a food business. In the Philippines, especially in the provinces like Coron, a tricycle is the more common means of transportation. Buses and jeepneys are limited. Her husband drives her tricycle unit and earns around PHP 500 a day. She also operates a small canteen in their area. To help her continue operations of her business, she is requesting a Php 30,000 loan which she will use for repairs and maintenance of her tricycle and also to add some grocery items for her small variety store. She is positive that this will boost her income as tricycle transportation and a variety store is really a need in their place. Nenita dreams of building and expanding her business to secure the education of her children for them to have a bright future. She meets up with her co-fellowship* members to share stories of her life and business every week and where she can also draw strength and inspiration from the fellowship and the Word of God she studies. *All CCT community partners / clients are organized into fellowship groups that meet on a weekly basis. A fellowship group is composed of 15 to 30 community partners. The fellowship groups gather each week to study the Word of God, build social capital, and repay Micro Finance loans.
