El Condor Group's story
El Condor Communal Bank is maD. up of 10 clients and is located in the San Pedro zone, a populous area in the city of La Paz. The bank arose thanks to the entrepreneurship of the S. family, who work in commerce. Eva Q. has been the leader of the group since its beginnings. She has a small stand in the local market where she sells food. She lives in the city of El Alto, Bolivia, but everyday she starts her work from the early hours of the morning preparing food that she is going to sell during the day. Then she travels to the city of La Paz and sets up her work stand very early. Eva's goal is for her children to advance and to improve her quality of life and business. Mr. Felipe S., the treasurer of the group and one of the male group members, work selling auto parts in the same neighborhood of San Pedro. He lives with his mother and his neices and nephews who he supports with his business. Lourdes, the secretary, is a hardworking woman who sells all types of seasonal products such as sweaters, toys, etc. She has 2 children who are school aged. Her husband helps her with the household expenses, with their studies and to care for the children. It is a group with a lot of solidarity that at the moment does not have any repayment problems as they are already on their 4th loan.
