Everelean's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!
A loan helped to help Everelean pay for new windows for her home.
Everelean (pictured right) is a widowed, single woman who has struggled to support herself as well as her disabled son. Everelean’s husband passed away just a week before the couple was to close on their new home. Although Everelean has reached retirement age, she has had to work additional hours to meet her financial commitments as well as provide for her son, Albert (pictured left), who is financially and emotionally dependent on her. Everelean’s main goal is to provide a safe and comfortable living environment for her son. She used the small amount of insurance money she received from her husband’s passing to handle his final expenses and to complete some of the greatly needed repairs to her home. Ultimately, Everelean did not have enough money to pay for the replacement of her jalousie windows, which are original to her home that was built in 1958. Everelean will use her KIVA loan to install new windows which will improve the safety and comfort of her family, as well as reduce the energy consumption of her home.
