Maa Sarala Shg Group's story

Tilottama is a 37-year-old lady staying with her husband and three children in a small village of Sonepur district, Odisha, India. She started a mobile business 10 years ago where she sells cooking oil, salt, spices, lentils, rice, snacks made of lentils, and other grocery items. She sells her products in the weekly markets that are organized in the villages near her village. She started this business to assist her husband financially and to manage the family requirements. In this way she earns 3,000 INR per month, which is not sufficient to support her family. She wants to grow her business by purchasing more quantity of what she sells, so that she can easily satisfy her customers' demands. Tilottama, along with her group, has requested a loan of 165,000 INR to invest in their businesses. Tilottama will use her portion to purchase goods in bulk amount and add some new varieties of stationery items and snacks to her shop. All members are grateful to Kiva and its lenders for this great help and support.
