Sampurna Shg Group's story
Sampurna Self Help Group (SHG) consists of eight women from a village in the Cuttack district of Odisha. They formed this group to help themselves to share their problems and to solve their problems among them. One of them is Amita, who was selected as the president of Sampurna Self Help Group. The lady standing with her raised hand in the photo is Amita. Amita is 36 years old and is staying with her husband and her only child. Her child is in school. She hopes to see him as an officer in a company. She has a few acres of land in her village and she is utilizing her land in sugarcane cultivation. Her husband is supporting her in this activity. Amita, along with her group, has requested a loan of 120,000 INR, in which she will use her portion to purchase the required resources for sugarcane cultivation. She says a portion of the loan amount will help her to purchase sugarcane plants, fertilizers, and insecticides, and to cover operational expenses like labor charges.
