Al Itihad Group's story

Rajaa is the featured borrower for Al Itihad Group. She got together with her other group members to take this Al Majmoua Lebanese Association for Development loan because they have always been neighbors and friends. They are working hard to develop their businesses and lives at the same time. Rajaa is a 50-year-old, married mother of five children. As her children grew, her husband’s salary became insufficient to cover their living expenses and needs, thus she got employed three years ago in a clothes-selling shop to help her husband. Today, Rajaa is acquiring a loan from Kiva’s field partner, Al Majmoua Lebanese Association for Development, to start her own clothes-selling business from her house, since she proved to be a hard-working woman who gained a good experience and reputation in her domain. With respect to the other group members, Jeniyeh is a 43-year-old, married woman of three children, works as an accessories and make-up saleswoman and wants to increase her merchandise by adding new, fashionable products for the upcoming autumn season, while Samira is a 41-year-old, married woman who wants to open a Tupperware and lingerie shop. Rajaa is the woman on the left of the photo, Jeniyeh is the woman on the right, and Samira is the woman seated in the middle.
