Maria Esperanza's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy agricultural inputs and pay for labor.

Maria Esperanza's story

Maria is a very modest and hard-working woman who comments that she never attended school as her parents did not have the resources needed to support her. Now in the company of her husband she works the earth planting coffee seedlings while her two children go to school and help with some of the farm work in their free time. Her business is and has been for a number of generations the planting and growing of coffee.

Her father taught her this trade as it is the principal source of income for their family and the majority of families in the area they live in. The land is located 30 minutes away from their house. When the product is ready it is sold to coffee processors or coffee buyers who are close to their community.

Her plan is to improve the condition of her business so that during the next harvest all the work done will be evident and the maintenance that is done for each harvest increases. As a mother of her family she will support her children so that they can study and progress the best they can in this ever more global community. She also wants to increase the profit from her business.

She is presently requesting a loan to to buy fertilizer and manure amongst others to fertilize her coffee crops and taking advantage of the labor to do some cleaning. So she hopes to be supported.
