A loan helped to buy new trees, expand assortment and increase income.
Mahir is 29 years old, a married man with a daughter and a son. His wife is a housekeeper and takes care of children. He is a gardener and has been raising such seasonal fruits as pears, peaches and quince for 9 years. He sells his harvest at the local bazaar and gets for this 200 AZN. The members of family are refugees and live in an IDP settlement. Fruits are in high demand in Azerbaijan. People raise and sell fruits during the whole year. Local people like to go to Mahir’s grocery because harvests there are always fresh and tasty. Mahir has a big garden but a few trees to collect a harvest from. This results in a lower sales income and makes it difficult for him to cover the demand. He applied for a 1,200 AZN loan in order to buy new trees, expand assortment and increase income.
