Heladio's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!
A loan helped to buy materials to build a house.
Heladio and his family arrived to their community located in Oaxaca, Mexico 6 years ago with the intention to have a better place to live. Heladio is a man of 45 years old. He works as a mason and every day is a long day´s work. His 40 year-old wife, Cirenia sells tamales every night in order to get an extra- income. A tamal is a traditional Mexican dish made of corn masa, which is steamed in a leaf wrapper and can be filled with meats, cheeses, fruits, vegetables, chilies or any preparation according to taste. This family faces many problems living in the present house: Overcrowding conditions. Heladio and Cirenia have 2 boys and 1 girl: Ariel (24), Jonathan (15), and Berenice (13). The entire family shares the only room which functions as a bedroom and kitchen and teenagers do not have privacy. Regarding the infrastructure of the house, the rain affects their belongings because the roof has a lot of leaks and everything gets wet. IT doesn´t helping to keep them warm and safe. Ariel, the oldest son works in a company of serigraphy. In his free time he supports his dad doing construction activities. Jonathan works in a grocery store and loves playing soccer in his free time. Berenice the “baby girl” of the family goes to school; she enjoys studying a lot and helps her mother with some chores. A new house will mark a big difference for this family. Heladio and Celenia wish the best possible future for their kids. They want to give them all they could not have when they were children and for this reason they would like to take the opportunity that Habitat for Humanity Mexico is offering to thier family. Heladio wants to accomplish his family´s dream: have an adequate and safer house with proper rooms for everyone.
