A loan helped to buy corn seed, soil amendments, pesticide, and herbicide.
Héctor Manuel's story
Héctor, 46, studied up to eighth grade in school. He's single and lives with his father and mother. Héctor has been a farmer for 30 years. His father taught him this job because he wanted his son to learn a trade and he always went to work with him. His work schedule is from 6 a.m. until 11 p.m. The requested loan is to buy corn seed, soil amendments, pesticide, and herbicide. He used the previous loan to buy the same products for his winter cornfield, which he lost because of a lack of rain. Now he wants to make the most of the crops in his summer cornfield. Corn has become expensive because of all the losses, and now they'll grow a lot to sell and earn the profits. Héctor's dreams are to always have the opportunity to keep on working and to help his parents so they don't lack food at home and they can enjoy their old age.
