Ishaka Women Development Group's story
Mrs. Peninah is an old client and a member of Ishaka Women's Development Group. She is aged 46 years and a single mother of one child. She has a salon business and her clients are women. She has applied for a loan of 500,000 UGX to add to the working capital for her business in form of relaxers, hair gels, hair extensions among other items. She started her business in the year 2012 for her own development and to look after her child. She is a hardworking and focused lady who works 12 hours a day. Her business is carried out in Ishaka Division, Bushenyi district. She is faced with the challenge of debtors as most of her customers dont pay on time, power cut-offs, and lack of enough water. However, through her hard work, she has managed her business and is determined to grow it massively. She would like to tell UGAFODE Microfinance Ltd (MDI) that it should continue supporting low income earners. She hopes to buy land and build her own house in the near future.
