Burulkan's story

Burulkan is 47, widowed, and the mother of five children. The three youngest are in school. She has been raising livestock since 1990 and currently has two cows, one calf, two horses, and eight sheep. Her only income comes from cattle sales and financial assistance for her children. She currently earns 2,500 som (KGS) per month, which is not enough to support a family and live a decent life. She needs to expand her business. Because the winter season is approaching, Burulkan wants to buy feed for the livestock and applied for a loan of 35,000 som (KGS) with Bai-Tushum Bank. This will allow her to take care of the livestock and increase their numbers. In the future, Burulkan dreams of giving her children a good education and of helping her son to build his own home.
