Mom's story

Mom S., 59, is married and has 8 children. She is a housewife, cooking for her family members and taking care of the household. Mom S. and her family live in the Siem Reap province of Cambodia. Her husband, Tep Van, is 78 years old and earns income growing rice crops and selling them at a market. On average, Tep Van makes US$4 per day. The family is financially supported also by two of the children who work as construction workers and make around US$3 per day each. At present, Mom S. is asking for a loan of US$800 to purchase a motorbike for her children to be able to have an easier commute to work. The remainder of the loan will be used to purchase fertilizers for her husband's rice farming business.
