Mahmud's story

G. Mahmud is 35 years old. He is married with 4 children of school age. His wife is a housekeeper, and she is taking care after their children. Thus Mahmud is the main breadwinner in the family. Mahmud’s children are small now, but already today he is working hard in order to ensure the best future for them. For more than 20 years Mahmud is baking the national bread “lepeshka.” He believes that this business is profitable and is not subject to seasonal lows. He gets up early and bakes lepeshka and bread so that people have fresh bread on their tables for breakfast. All the ingredients like flour, salt, and yeast he purchases in the local market. Now Mahmud requests 4000 Somoni ($1200 US dollars) for the term of 12 months. The loan shall be spent for purchasing flour and coal for baking the lepeshka. Mahmud has already had one loan and demonstrated himself as an honest client and he promises to repay the current loan promptly as well.
