Unity Group's story
The Unity group is on their seventh loan cycle with ID Ghana. This group consists of seven members and is led by Rosemary. The members of this group engage in various businesses such as selling fish, general goods, polyethylene bags, shoes and foodstuff. The loan will benefit small entrepreneurs such as Rosemary. She says that she joined ID-Ghana four years ago after receiving an invitation through a mass promotion held by the organization. Rosemary currently has a business in which she sells general goods such as padlocks, hangers and scrubbing brushes. She has been learning the business since starting it three years ago and works independently. This is the seventh loan that she has obtained from ID Ghana. The loan she is receiving now will be used to buy more padlocks, hangers and scrubbing brushes to sell to customers. Working in this manner enables her to generate income to support her family. Rosemary is a single mother of three children. When asked what she likes about ID Ghana, Rosemary said that she enjoys the health insurance offered by the organization.
