A loan helped To purchase more sugarcane.
Mao N., 57, is married and resides with her husband and two children in the Kampong Cham, Cambodia. Since 1987, she has been selling sugarcane in the market and is able to make US$3.50 per day, while her husband is a farmer and raises cows at home. Everyday, he just earns US$1. This couple also gets support from their children who work as construction workers. Both of them can make US$5 a day. Mao N. said on average she spends US$40 on food and US$15 on transportation. To make more money she would like to take out a loan of US$500 to purchase more sugarcane from individual growers for sale.
