Kpanmanga-Nyong-Gumah Group's story

Zabaga is married and is 38 years old with seven children. She is a member of a shea nut processing group from Nyong-Gumah, in the northern region of Ghana. Zabaga is the person placing both hands on the shea nuts as you look at the group picture. Her group is called ‘Kpan-manga’ Women Association. Zabaga has been doing this business with her colleagues in the group for the past six years. With a new loan of GHS 7,800, she can buy and process four bags of shea nuts into shea butter. There are available off-taker organizations and individuals who buy and export the shea butter Zabaga processes. The injection of this capital would further expand this business and would further increase her income. With the increase income, she would be able to repay the loan and also support her children to eat well and go to school.
