Peter is a 48-year-old married man with five children, ages 21, 19, 17, 15, and 11 years old – all attending different schools. He is a farmer who grows coffee, maize, and beans. He sells his products to fellow traders. He works six days a week and eight hours a day and has been a farmer since 1994. However, he faces the challenges of unfavorable weather conditions (like drought) and poor markets, which affect his business. He is motivated by the fact that it is a permanent business and in his area of expertise. Peter is also an internal officer (GSO) located in a rural area from which he gains additional income that he uses to support his family. Peter hopes to use this loan to buy fertilizers for his coffee plantation so that he can increase his output. His hope and dream is to expand his business, provided he gets capital. He is described as an honest and hardworking man in the business. He appreciates lenders for the services offered.
